Blackstone Technology's Dobeln plant of Saxony, the manufacturing capacity for Li-ion batteries with 3D-printed battery electrodes will be enhanced tenfold to 500 MWh per annum by 2022.
Triathlon Batteries GmbH, the greatest German manufacturer of industrial truck battery systems, recently signed an LOI(letter of intent) with the company to supply 3D printed battery cells for several hundred-megawatt hours each year.
Triathlon Batteries acknowledge the advantages of Blackstone's technology for their products and the larger market. There are also more LIOs with clients surrounding marine applications, e-motorcycles, e-commercial vehicles, and e-buses, with a total value of about EUR 184 million.
Blackstone Technology has the benefit of making batteries that fit perfectly into the installation locations of industrial vehicles. Modern forklifts are an example of this. As a result, the existing installation space standards, also known as battery troughs, will be applied less in vehicle design.
