FREMONT, CA: Blackstone Resources AG is delighted to announce that Blackstone Technology GmbH, its German subsidiary, will double its production capacity. At Blackstone Technology's Dobeln plant in Saxony, the manufacturing capability for Li-ion batteries with 3D-printed battery electrodes will be increased tenfold to 500 MWh per annum by 2022.
Triathlon Batteries GmbH, the largest German manufacturer of battery systems for industrial trucks, recently signed a letter of intent (LOI) with the company to supply 3D printed battery cells with many hundred-megawatt hours each year. Triathlon Batteries recognizes the benefits of Blackstone's technology for their products and the larger market. There are also more LIOs with clients encompassing marine applications, e-motorcycles, e-commercial vehicles, and e-buses, with a combined value of around EUR 184 million.

Blackstone Technology has the advantage of making batteries that fit perfectly into the installation locations of industrial vehicles. Modern forklifts are an example of this. The existing installation space standards, also known as battery troughs, will be applied less in vehicle design in the future. Blackstone Technology's innovative production process will enable vehicle designers to optimize space usage and eliminate the necessity for battery troughs with these new adaptable battery formats.
