Hydrogen Optimized's patented RuggedCell water electrolyzers are intended to attain the lowest levelized cost of pure hydrogen on a large scale. They convert renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power into green hydrogen using a high-power architecture that enables 50 MW+ single modules to meet the clean energy needs of significant industrial applications such as steelmaking, ammonia production, and e-fuels.
Under the terms of the MOU, Flowserve will supply its SIHI Liquid Ring Compressor to Hydrogen Optimized for use with a RuggedCell„ system at its Ontario High-Power Demonstration Facility. In addition, Flowserve will provide engineering support for selecting, specifying, and standardizing flow equipment to optimize the back end of its hydrogen production. Hydrogen Optimized aims to accelerate the commercialization of its RuggedCell system through this collaboration. In addition, Flowserve will be able to examine critical performance data on its products, which is anticipated to result in leading technology to meet the requirements of future decarbonization initiatives.
"Flowserve has an outstanding reputation for quality and reliability, and we are delighted to be working with them,” says Andrew T. B. Stuart, President and CEO of Hydrogen Optimized. “We look forward to demonstrating how the integration of RuggedCell water electrolyzers with Flowserve compressors will create an exceptional product that meets the rapidly emerging demand for large-scale green hydrogen systems.”
