Fermont, CA: Huawei revealed its all-new smart photovoltaic or PV solutions and energy storage system at Intersolar Europe on May 11, 2022. The company highlighted its dedication to developing a low-carbon innovative society powered by clean energy. The modern and sustainable solutions displayed were utility-scale PV plants, energy storage systems, and intelligent micro-grids. Huawei also claimed to provide optimised Levelized Cost of Electricity or LCOE, increased grid connectivities, and improvised security through continuous innovation in string design to address key industry challenges. The primary technologies in its innovative PV solution involve a smart DC system, smart I-V curve diagnostics 4.0, SmartString-Level disconnector technology and grid forming. What sets electronics solutions apart is that the intelligent PV solution is equipped with DC arc detection and emergency shutdown. This results in accurate prevention of failures, faster response times, and excellent safety.
Smart String Energy Storage System or ESS was another system displayed by Huawei at an event for the optimised Level cost of Energy Storage or LCOS. This was a concern for limited capability, limited service life, complex O&M, and a higher level of safety for conventional solutions. The system provides absolute security with four layers covering cell-level short circuit perception, safety shutdown of pack-level, fault isolation and overcurrent protection of rack-level, and system-level smart fire repression.

In addition to these solutions, Huawei also announced an integrated solution for residential areas that enables a smart power consumption ecosystem with a smart energy controller that combines a PV optimiser, ESS, electric vehicle charger, and management system. This solution raises PV self-consumption from 70% to 90% of the previous generation, bringing an all-around clean energy experience to homes with low electricity bills, operational security and intelligent assistants.
