A significant enabler for the development of resilient, powerful, and economical radio access networks is the movement toward an ICT site's smart energy configuration (RANs). This strategy also creates new revenue streams for ICT site owners so they can provide auxiliary services to support the energy power system (power grid).
Although network energy efficiency has always been a key factor, 5G comes with a particularly potent set of technologies that communication service providers (CSPs) can utilize to reduce network energy consumption. Even if 5G energy is excellent, the ICT sector still needs to find other ways to address the energy crisis.
