Simplifying Remote Well Monitoring
Its flagship wireless downhole monitoring system, Tri-Logic.DCS enables operators to access continuous downhole data without the limitations of conventional cable-based monitoring.
As operators expand their digitalization efforts, they are looking to reduce fieldwork, shorten deployment time and minimize hardware requirements without extensive infrastructure changes. Conventional cablebased monitoring often stands in the way, particularly for sub-packer applications and wells with small-diameter casing, where installing downhole cables is technically difficult or economically unjustifiable.
Tri-Logic addresses these limitations through its patented electromagnetic communication technology. Pressure and temperature sensors installed at the bottom of the well transmit real-time data to the surface through the casing string, eliminating the need for downhole cables. Operators can continuously monitor reservoir conditions and artificial lift equipment without retrieving downhole pumping equipment, reducing intervention costs.
The advantages are particularly evident in rod lift wells, where cable-related risks have historically limited permanent monitoring. By removing those constraints, Tri-Logic. DCS lowers workover costs, supports earlier detection of abnormal equipment behavior and creates opportunities to optimize production before losses occur.
Once information reaches the surface, it must also be transmitted efficiently across geographically dispersed assets. Tri-Logic’s IIoT and LoRaWAN technologies enable long-distance data transmission with very low power consumption.
Battery-powered LoRaWAN devices operate across remote oilfields and demanding operating environments, transmitting data over distances of up to 12 kilometers without extensive communications or power infrastructure. Within Tri-Logic’s IIoT platform, each field device is registered using a unique identifier, enabling rapid integration with the digital platform and immediate access to measurement data through web and mobile applications.
Proof in Action
After facing reliability issues with cable-based monitoring and limited downhole visibility, one customer deployed 14 Tri-Logic.DCS systems to monitor sub-packer pressure in wells with 4-inch casing. The deployment eliminated downhole cables, provided continuous access to critical well operating data and improved monitoring reliability. Following the successful implementation, the customer plans to install an additional 100 wireless downhole monitoring systems.

In another LoRaWAN-based well production monitoring project, Tri-Logic has deployed approximately 4,000 controllers. By integrating its IIoT radio controller directly into the oil flow meter, it simplified deployment and reduced the cost of equipping each well by approximately fivefold compared with conventional approaches.
Driving Long-Term Operational Value
To simplify adoption, Tri-Logic initially provides the software free of charge so that customers can use and evaluate it before making significant investments. Ongoing technical support keeps the equipment running reliably for long. Feedback from field deployments continues to refine both hardware and software under real operating conditions.
Tri-Logic plans to advance its wireless monitoring, IIoT and communication technologies and extend their application into oil treatment, transportation infrastructure and the electric power sector. Field experience will continue to guide improvements in reliability, functionality and deployment.
